Infinix Note 12 looks like just a slight incremental upgrade to the Note 11. Both smartphones feature the same processor. The display and the camera also seem the same though with some improvements. For example, the display now has an improved brightness from 650 nits to 1000 nits for better viewing experience under direct sunlight.
The addition of Extended RAM, a feature we have seen in smartphones like the Infinix Zero 5G and Tecno Spark 8C (as Memory Fusion) means the 4GB model can be extended to up to 7GB and the 6GB model can be extended to up to 11GB capacity for a much smoother experience.

Design and Display
Infinix Note 12 features an ultra sleek design. It still measures 7.9 mm in thickness like its predecessor. The back and frame of the phone are made of plastic with the front covered in glass.
Camera placement for the front and rear cameras is also the same with the Note 11. You can buy the smartphone in three different colours: Jewel Blue, Force Black, and Sunset Golden.
Infinix Note 12 has a brilliant 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The AMOLED display offers a good viewing experience with sharp and crisp pictures with deep blacks. With 100% DCP-P3 colour gamut, 100000:1 contrast, and up to 1000 nits brightness the display is sure going to satisfy you.
The Cameras
The Infinix Note 12 features what looks like the same camera as its predecessor. On the rear, you get a 50 megapixels wide angle main camera with a large 1/2.8 image sensor, f/1.6 aperture, and phase detection autofocus. This is paired with a 2 megapixels depth camera, and a QVGA AI camera.
The rear camera should deliver professional looking photos for its price. It also supports 1440p Video recording and has a quad-LED flash.
A 16 megapixels camera is provided in the front for taking selfies. The selfie camera can record full HD videos.
Hardware and Software
Infinix Note 12 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G88 processor. This is exactly the same processor as the Note 11 with a dual-cluster architecture with a dual-core Cortex-A75 clocked at 2.0GHz and a hexa-core Cortex-A55 also clocked at 1.8GHz.
This distinguishes it from the Infinix Note 12 VIP and Infinix Note 12 G96 as both offer the more capable Mediatek Helio G96. This is also the same processor as the Infinix Note 11 Pro.
You also get the same memory and storage options here: 64GB or 128GB built-in storage and 4GB or 6GB RAM. The smartphone offers a dedicated microSD slot that supports up to 2TB memory card.
While the Note 12 offers exactly the same 4GB or 6GB RAM, its edge is in its support of the new Extended RAM feature on latest Infinix phones. With this feature you can extend the model with 4GB RAM by up to 3GB to get an effective memory of up to 7GB and the 6GB model by up to 5GB to get up to 11GB.
This offers more capacity for the android phone which can result in a smoother experience. This is achieved by allocated a portion of the storage as an active memory of the phone.
Despite the fact that the Hot 12 launched on the same day came with Android 12 out of the box, the Infinix Note 12 is advertised with Android 11, though the UI skin for both devices is XOS 10.6.
